It’s gradually becoming bad business for data resellers and the signal of chasing them out of business is what’s happening now. Again, MTN increases prices of SME data share because this is not the first time they are increasing it. Now tell me, what’s the point patronizing a third party data reseller when you can get almost the same data equivalent when you subscribe directly from the network?
Few days ago, MTN sent a direct message to all SME resellers and the it goes like this
“Dear Customer, from Dec. 7, 2017, the following prices will apply to MTN SME Data Share: 10GB–N6,500; 20GB–N13,000; 50GB–N30,000. Thank you for choosing MTN!”
This means that you may no longer be buying SME data of 1GB for N600 and 2GB for N1100 once this takes effect from December 7, This is because the third party data resellers will likely increase the price in order to make little gain so this will also trigger the consideration of buyers choosing between buying data directly or from SME resellers. You can check official MTN data plans and prices to see for yourself.
Therefore, we advise customers to buy data in bulk now to last you for 3 months before the proposed increment takes effect. If SME data rate automatically go up, how many people will still patronize them?
